The Price of Coal is loosey based on the accounts of the inquest into the 14 deaths that were caused by the events at the colliery in Exhall, near Coventry, in the early hours of 21st. September 1915. It sets out to show the dangers associated with this once vital industry, the daily risks that the miners took to hew the coal from the ground and goes on to recall the brotherhood and community spirit that was part of the everyday lives of those who shared this common purpose. This play sets out to honour those 14 men and all who once willingly exposed themselves daily to those dangers so that others could have heat, light and somewhere safer to work.

Three in One Productions was due to be presenting a series of performances during 2020.

IMPACT OF THE COVID19 VIRUS

In common with many other small scale production companies we have been hit hard at short notice by the Government continuing announcements as a result of the the pandemic. We had to cancel our performances at 3 days notice with a consderable financial loss.

We did take the opportunity before the cast and team went into lockdown to make a short video promoting the show.
